Sydney Flower Market is Australia's largest flower market for fresh cut flowers and enjoys some of the lowest prices in the developed world. It mainly supplies florists but it is also open to the general public. It sells fresh cut flowers, potted plants and florist supplies such as ribbon, wrap, foam and other sundry items.
It is located at the Sydney Markets in Flemington which is near Homebush Bay, 15 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. The Flower Markets are open 6 days a week (closed Sundays) and are open between 5AM and 11AM.
What you need to know
1. Get there early before all the good flowers are sold, the Flower Markets are open between 5AM and 11AM, however the majority of trading generally takes place before 9am.
2. Have $10 cash with you for the vehicle entry fee if entering the Markets before 9.30am Monday to Friday.
3. Take container(s) to fill with water to transport your fresh cut flowers and make sure you have a cool place to store them when you get home.
